Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, With Christmas around the corner, we look at what the Quran says about Jesus. The Quran, informs us that Jesus was a human messenger (like all messengers) of God whose sole mission was to deliver God's message. He never possessed any power of his own, nor was he divine (Quran 3:84, 4:171, 5:75, 117). [Quran 5:116-117] GOD will say, "O Jesus, son of Mary,* did you say to the people, 'Make me and my mother idols beside GOD'?" He will say, "Be You glorified. I could not utter what was not right. ... "I told them only what You commanded me to say, that: 'You shall worship GOD, my Lord and your Lord.' I was a witness among them for as long as I lived with them. When You terminated my life on earth, You became the Watcher over them. You witness all things. Similarly, in the Bible, Jesus tells his followers to be devoted to God Alone, not Jesus, with all their heart and soul (Matthew 22:36-38, Mark 12:28-30, etc.) [Matthew 22:36-38] "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
