Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Sometimes we only appreciate a blessing after we lose it temporarily, or after seeing someone who does not have it. How often do we thank God for our family or our homes? Or for our health, hearing and eyesight? (16:78, 23:78). We implore God when we are hurting, but do we remember and thank God with the same intensity when He heals us or do we forget soon after? (16:53-54). [Quran 31:12] We have endowed Luqmaan with wisdom: "You shall be appreciative of GOD." Whoever is appreciative is appreciative for his own good. As for those who turn unappreciative, GOD is in no need, Praiseworthy. We should take every opportunity to thank God for His blessings. There is always something to be thankful for. If we are appreciative, God gives us more. If we are not appreciative, the loss is ours as a consequence of our choice. [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. [Quran 14:7] Your Lord has decreed: "the more you thank me, the more I give you." But if you turn unappreciative, then My retribution is severe. References: Do we thank God enough?
