Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, God advocates meditation in many places in Quran (3:17, 17:79, 25:64, 73:2-6, etc.). Meditation is a great gift from God to worship Him, commemorate Him and draw closer to Him. The focus of meditation needs to be God (Quran 50:40, 19:11, 39:9, 73:2-8), yet at the same time God leaves us with much freedom in how to meditate. For example, we can use the time to commemorate Him, reflect on our Submission to Him, seek His forgiveness, or read Quran. It is not always easy to set this time aside for God and our souls. But we must try--and the more we work at it, the easier God makes it for us. Meditation [Quran 17:79] During the night, you shall meditate for extra credit, that your Lord may raise you to an honorable rank. [Quran 39:9] Is it not better to be one of those who meditate in the night, prostrating and staying up, being aware of the Hereafter, and seeking the mercy of their Lord? ... [Quran 50:40] During the night you shall meditate on His name, and after prostrating.
