Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, "The real measure of a person's wealth is what he has invested for eternity [Anonymous quote]." We know that the Contact Prayers (Salat), obligatory charity (Zakat) and living a righteous life are the real investment. These accumulate the best returns (Quran 2:261, 6:160, 40:40) in our Post-Retirement Account with God. While God does not prohibit us from enjoying the materials of this world, we must remember to focus our actions and thoughts towards amassing credit for the Hereafter. [Quran 40:17] On that day, every soul will be requited for whatever it had earned. There will be no injustice on that day. GOD is most efficient in reckoning. [Quran 16:96] What you possess runs out, but what GOD possesses lasts forever. We will surely reward those who steadfastly persevere; we will recompense them for their righteous works. God has sufficiently warned us about being preoccupied with the materials of this world through examples of the previous generations; none of us will have any valid excuses on that day (75:15). [Quran 78:38-40] The day will come when the Spirit and the angels will stand in a row. None will speak except those permitted by the Most Gracious, and they will utter only what is right. Such is the inevitable day. Whoever wills let him take refuge in his Lord. We have sufficiently warned you about an imminent retribution. That is the day when everyone will examine what his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish I were dust." Being engrossed with how much we have amassed in this world must not supersede the investment we make for the Hereafter (35:29). After all, that is the real life and it is for eternity.
