In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

In late January, asteroid BL86 flew safely past earth. Humans spend millions of dollars each year to track asteroids, calculating how close they'll approach and trying to devise methods to deflect those that may cause damage. There is sophisticated equipment constantly monitoring deep space. Yet, with all our technology, the most advanced countries cannot track all the hazardous objects in space. In 2013, for example, an asteroid entered earth's atmosphere undetected and exploded over Russia. Thousands of buildings were damaged. It was a humbling reminder that only God knows all things (Quran 5:97, 2:115, 31:34, 22:70), and that humans are powerless (Quran 4:132, 7:188, 40:3, 51:58). The Quran prophesies an impact that will cause smoke to envelope the earth (Quran 44:9-15) after the coming of God's messenger of the covenant. Only God knows its time. And only He protects the righteous (Quran 7:196).


[Quran 22:65] Do you not see that GOD has committed in your service everything on earth? The ships run in the ocean by His command. He prevents the heavenly bodies from crashing onto the earth, except in accordance with His command. GOD is Most Kind towards the people, Most Merciful.

[Quran 57:4] He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then assumed all authority. He knows everything that enters into the earth, and everything that comes out of it, and everything that comes down from the sky, and everything that climbs into it. He is with you wherever you may be. GOD is Seer of everything you do.
