Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, God reminds us to meditate, especially during the night and dawn. [Quran 3:17] They are steadfast, truthful, submitting, charitable, and meditators at dawn. [Quran 39:9] Is it not better to be one of those who meditate in the night, prostrating and staying up, being aware of the Hereafter, and seeking the mercy of their Lord? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only those who possess intelligence will take heed. Meditation [Quran 17:79] During the night, you shall meditate for extra credit, that your Lord may raise you to an honorable rank. [Quran 73:6] The meditation at night is more effective, and more righteous. So if we want extra credit for our soul, God says to meditate. There are also numerous studies that suggest meditation has several health benefits--most notably among them is easing stress. Some researchers think that meditation stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, slowing the heart and breathing rate, and improving blood flow--providing opportunity to be in a calm and relaxed state, by God's leave. Following God's system is a great way to keep the soul and body healthy.
