Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, In September 2016 alone a large number of terrorist attacks took place, many in the name of religion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_September_2016). In the USA, over the past week, two terrorist attacks were carried out by individuals allegedly associated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda. What the attackers, and many at large, did not seem to realize, is that so-called "radical Islamic" groups, are in fact anti-Islamic groups. Carrying out such attacks is strictly forbidden by God in the Quran. These criminal groups are breaking, disobeying, and doing the opposite of every major moral requirement of the Quran, and therefore, not Islamic whatsoever. Terrorism simply has no place in the religion of Submission to God (the English equivalent of "Islam"). The Major Commandments [Quran 6:151] Say, "Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you ... You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill - GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand." [Quran 5:87] O you who believe, do not prohibit good things that are made lawful by GOD, and do not aggress; GOD dislikes the aggressors. [Quran 7:28] They commit a gross sin, then say, "We found our parents doing this, and GOD has commanded us to do it." Say, "GOD never advocates sin. Are you saying about GOD what you do not know?" Submitters to God (Muslims) are required to be inherently peaceful because we believe God is in charge (Quran 3:109, 6:102, 57:22-23) and thus who are we, mere mortals, to take away the freedom that God gave to all on Earth (Quran 2:256)? Instead we should strive to be happy, steadfast, truthful, submitting individuals. The kind who are charitable and meditate at dawn. We want to advocate righteousness and forbid evil. This includes enjoining people against terrorism and violence.
