Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. [Quran 13:28] They are the ones whose hearts rejoice in remembering GOD. Absolutely, by remembering GOD, the hearts rejoice. [Quran 20:130] Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances, and praise and glorify your Lord before sunrise and before sunset. And during the night glorify Him, as well as at both ends of the day, that you may be happy. Remembering God is a great blessing and a source of happiness (Quran 13:28, 20:130, etc.). God gives us opportunities all around us each day to remember Him. We just need to take advantage of them and we'll be happy, God willing! Each time up wake in the morning or go to sleep (Quran 30:17), each time we use our hearing or eyesight (Quran 16:78), each time we eat (6:118-121) or enjoy any blessing--it is beautiful opportunity to remember God. Among the opportunities we have is the Contact Prayers. Five times every day we pull ourselves away from the distractions of this world to focus all our attention on God alone. We think of God when we look at the clock to see if it's time to pray; we plan when or where we could do our prayer; we use the time of ablution to thank God for the opportunity to make contact with our Creator. And then during the actual prayer, we try very hard to concentrate on the words we're saying. Thank you God for this gift. Will we use the opportunities God gave us to remember Him today?
