Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 2:2-3] This scripture is infallible; a beacon for the righteous; who believe in the unseen, observe the Contact Prayers (Salat),* and from our** provisions to them, they give to charity. *2:3 Since the Contact Prayers are decreed five times a day, they constitute the prime source of nourishment for our souls. ... The Quran is a beacon for the righteous. It tells us how to live our lives and find happiness through Submission to God. For example, we are to observe the Contact Prayers and give to charity (Quran 2:3, 2:43, 2:110, 2:177, etc.). We are to honor our parents (Quran 6:151, 17:23), not kill (Quran 6:151), not commit gross sins (Quran 6:151, 42:37) and treat the orphans well (Quran 4:2, 4:36, 6:152). We are to be truthful (Quran 2:177, 3:17, 5:119), give full measure when we trade (Quran 6:152, 7:85, 17:35), be absolutely just when we bear witness (Quran 6:152) and be humble (Quran 52:26, 17:37, 31:18-19). We are to reverence God (Quran 2:45, 5:35, 33:35), to be steadfast (Quran 2:45, 2:153-155, 2:177, 3:17), be patient (Quran 20:130, 40:55, 42:43), forgiving (Quran 42:37, 42:43) and trustworthy (Quran 23:8, 70:32). These are a few of the things God tells us to do. For the full set, we can read God's Quran which is fully detailed, with knowledge, guidance, and mercy (Quran 7:52). Which of God's commands will we work on doing better today?
