Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, In this world, having an "obligation" is not always viewed positively. But when it comes to our souls, the wonderful news is that the obligations and duties are a blessing from God and bring happiness. This is why when Abraham implored God in Quran 14:40, he did not ask for wealth or health; the gift he implored for was: "Please God, make me one who observes the contact prayers (Salat)." [Quran 3:76-77] Indeed, those who fulfill their obligations and lead a righteous life, GOD loves the righteous. As for those who trade away GOD's covenant, and their obligations, for a cheap price, they receive no share in the Hereafter. ... We have obligations to fulfill (e.g., our religious duties) in order to enjoy God's grace and be redeemed. Taking care of our obligations is for our own benefit. May God help us be reverent and hopeful as we fulfill our obligations so that we may enjoy perfect happiness now and forever.
