Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, College basketball's annual tournament is on in the USA. Fans cheer loudly and heartily for their favorite teams. Victory can be joyful, and losses difficult. But as sweet as it is to be a winner (or as much as losing may hurt), it's temporary. It lasts till the next game or the next season. That is the nature of this world, it's temporary and an illusion. God tells us that the real loss is to lose one's soul on the Day of Resurrection (Quran 39:15, 42:45). And similarly, the greatest triumph is to be admitted into Heaven (Quran 4:13, 5:119, 9:72, etc.). This loss or victory lasts forever. [Quran 39:14-17] Say, "GOD is the only One I worship, devoting my religion absolutely to Him alone. "Therefore, worship whatever you wish besides Him." Say, "The real losers are those who lose their souls, and their families, on the Day of Resurrection." Most certainly, this is the real loss. They will have masses of fire on top of them, and under them. GOD thus alerts His servants: O My servants, you shall reverence Me. As for those who discard the worship of all idols, and devote themselves totally to GOD alone, they have deserved happiness. Give good news to My servants. [Quran 2:2-5] This scripture is infallible; a beacon for the righteous; who believe in the unseen, observe the Contact Prayers (Salat),* and from our** provisions to them, they give to charity. And they believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you,* and with regard to the Hereafter, they are absolutely certain. These are guided by their Lord; these are the winners. [Quran 3:104] Let there be a community of you who invite to what is good, advocate righteousness, and forbid evil. These are the winners. What are we doing today to avoid the most painful loss and to seek the greatest triumph?
