Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. [Quran 7:205] You shall remember your Lord within yourself, publicly, privately, and quietly, day and night; do not be unaware.* *7:205 Your god is whoever or whatever occupies your mind most of the day. This explains the fact that most of those who believe in God are destined for Hell (See 12:106, 23:84-90, and Appendix 27). The world we live in today has many distractions. There are the "old distractions" like money, children and material things (Quran 63:9, 24:36-37, 38:32, 100:8). And we also have TV, Internet, phones, games and more that take up our time. While these things in themselves aren't bad, if they distract us from commemorating God and observing the Contact Prayers (Salat), it is a problem for our souls (Quran 31:33, 35:5). Let us therefore try our best to heed the reminder in: [Quran 35:5] O people, GOD's promise is the truth; therefore, do not be distracted by this lowly life. Do not be diverted from GOD by mere illusions.
