Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [89:3] By the even and the odd. * *89:3 See Appendix 1 for the role of the even numbers and the odd numbers. Among the proofs in the Quran are the even and odd numbers. The even and odd numbers are part of the mathematical miracle of the Quran, one of God's great miracles (Quran 74:35), proving the Quran is divinely authored (please see: https://www.masjidtucson.org/quran/appendices/appendix1.html ). Let us consider an example of God's design of even and odd numbers. There are 114 (19x6) suras (chapters) in the Quran. Let us add each sura number and its number of verses. This gives us 114 new numbers. E.g., Sura 1 has 7 verses; adding 1+7 gives us 8. Sura 2 has 286 verses; the sum of 2+286 = 288. Sura 3 has 200 verses; the sum of 200+3 is 203. 1) If we examine these numbers, we see that exactly half are even, and the other half are odd. In other words, there are 57 even numbers and 57 odd numbers (57 = 19x3). 2) Further, when we sum up these 57 odd and 57 even numbers we get 6555 and 6234 respectively. 6555 is also exactly the sum of all the sura numbers in the Quran (i.e., 1 + 2 + 3 + ... + 114). And 6234 is the sum of the number of verses in each sura (i.e., 7 + 286 + 200 + ... + 6). Praise be to God!
