Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. [Quran 50:39-40] Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances, and praise and glorify your Lord before sunrise, and before sunset. During the night you shall meditate on His name, and after prostrating. Last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the USA. But we know each day is a day to thank God. So how did we do this past week? How often did we thank God and how often did we get caught up in the worldly illusion? God, in His grace and mercy, has given us opportunities to remember and thank Him. These include the Contact Prayers (Salat) (Quran 20:14, 29:45), remembering His name before we eat (Quran 6:118-121), appreciating God's gifts (Quran 18:39), remembering God when we talk about the future (Quran 18:23-24). Remembering God day and night (Quran 20:130, 33:41-42, 50:39-40), and more! Each of these opportunities is a gift. One that can bring us closer to God (Quran 73:8), and bring us joy and happiness (Quran 13:28, 20:130). Isn't it good for us to enjoy and appreciate these gifts?
