In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

We don't want to stray from God's path. There are many reasons people go astray. The ego is one of them (Quran 45:23). So, we must work on killing our ego (Quran 2:54). Sometimes the ego is easier to catch. Other times it may be partly hidden, e.g., in the form of self-righteousness.

     Common Form of Idolatry: The Ego As A god
[Quran 45:23] Have you noted the one whose god is his ego? Consequently, GOD sends him astray, despite his knowledge, seals his hearing and his mind, and places a veil on his eyes. Who then can guide him, after such a decision by GOD? Would you not take heed?

[Quran 1:6-7] Guide us in the right path;
 the path of those whom You blessed; not of those who have deserved wrath, nor of the strayers.

May God help us kill our ego, forgive us, and guide us in the right path.
