Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, If you ask someone, "What is your heart's desire?" They may give you a long list. If they're fasting, it may be tasty food for dinner. Or it may be a new car, a bigger home, job success, happiness for their children, travel to beautiful lands, the list goes on. [Quran 53:24-25] What is it that the human being desires? To GOD belongs both the Hereafter, and this world. There's nothing wrong with enjoying nice things from God (Quran 7:32). But do we remember God in the process? Are we growing our souls, or are we only pleasing the body that we finally leave behind? Question: Can we put as much time into pleasing God today, as we would if we were preparing or enjoying our favorite food to break the fast with?
