Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:191] They remember GOD* while standing, sitting, and on their sides, and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: "Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain. Be You glorified. Save us from the retribution of Hell. *3:191 Your god is whoever or whatever occupies your mind most of the time. The true believers are those who remember God most of the time. See 23:84-89 and Appendix 27. [Quran 2:185] Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are ill or traveling may substitute the same number of other days. GOD wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify GOD for guiding you, and to express your appreciation. As we go through each day, it's so important to remember God and feed our souls. God gives us many gifts to remember Him including our worship practices. God also knows that the distractions of our daily lives may keep us from remembering Him "while standing, sitting, or lying on our sides." (Quran 3:191). Among the ways God gets our attention is through food and water. As we fast, each time we think of His provisions, it's an opportunity to thank Him for all that He has blessed us with. May God help us remember Him throughout our day. And may God protect us from taking His blessings for granted.
