Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 21:35] Every soul will taste death, after we put you to the test through adversity and prosperity, then to us you ultimately return. [Quran 59:18] O you who believe, you shall reverence GOD, and let every soul examine what it has sent ahead for tomorrow. You shall reverence GOD; GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do. God designed our life and tests to expose any polytheistic shortcomings we may have. And He gave us this life so that we may do better (Quran 67:1-2). Given all that happened in 2020, how did we handle our tests? Did we worship God alone and remain steadfast under all circumstances? Did we work to reject any idols (e.g., ego, property, fear, etc.) that may have come between us and God? Did we feel our soul grow over the year? No matter how we did in 2020, our soul has work to do in 2021. And since we don't know how many days we have left, we don't want to wait to do better. So, how will we start off the new year? What will we do differently in the year ahead to grow closer to God?
