In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 64:16] Therefore, you shall reverence GOD as much as you can, and listen, and obey, and give (to charity) for your own good. Anyone who is protected from his own stinginess, these are the successful ones.

We are told by God to "listen" in multiple verses (Quran 2:93, 2:104, 6:36, etc.). Praise be to God, He also provides us with all types of examples in the Quran of how to listen and how not to listen. We can even use the examples of how not to listen by listening in the "opposite" way, e.g., we don't want to be like those who listen heedlessly (Quran 21:2) nor those who listen to lies (Quran 5:41).

May God guide us to listen with responsiveness, taking heed to what we are listening to. May God help us to listen to understand, to listen with both our ears and our hearts. God please help us listen in all the positive ways that are pleasing to You especially when it comes to reverencing You and listening to the Quran!
