Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, The coronavirus has made people more diligent about taking care of their health. The government recommends washing hands regularly and covering the nose and mouth when coughing. People are also being careful when interacting with others and are reducing social activities like travel or entertainment. Healthy practices for the body are good. But no matter how long we live, in reality this life is very short (Quran 16:77). In contrast, healthy practices that protect and nourish for our real self, the soul, can benefit us for eternity! Rearranging Our Priorities [Quran 6:32] The life of this world is no more than illusion and vanity, while the abode of the Hereafter is far better for the righteous. Do you not understand?! [Quran 30:7] They care only about things of this world that are visible to them, while being totally oblivious to the Hereafter. Reflection question: How much work do we put in to take care of our body? And how much work do we do for our soul?
