Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 90:4] We created the human being to work hard (to redeem himself).* *90:4 See the Introduction and Appendix 7 for the purpose behind our creation. Calling myself a Submitter sounds nice. But it's not enough. It is like joining a gym or fitness club. What I should remember is that: The work doesn't finish when you join the gym. When you join the gym, the work begins. We know "joining the gym" is not enough through verses like: [Quran 10:90] We delivered the Children of Israel across the sea. Pharaoh and his troops pursued them, aggressively and sinfully. When drowning became a reality for him, he said, "I believe that there is no god except the One in whom the Children of Israel have believed; I am a submitter." He joined but never worked out. May God help me to put in the hard work necessary to truly practice Submission to God.
