Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Ramadan, the month of fasting, begins next week. God tells us, "... fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation." (Quran 2:183). Fasting, therefore, is a great gift for our souls. Additionally, fasting during the month of Ramadan restores our expanded stomachs to their normal sizes, lowers our blood pressure through temporary dehydration, rids the body of harmful toxins, gives our kidneys a much needed rest, and reduces our weight by removing excessive and harmful fat. While most parts of the world begin fasting on April 13, some locations may start a day earlier.
