Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 16:10-11] He sends down from the sky water for your drink, and to grow trees for your benefit. With it, He grows for you crops, olives, date palms, grapes, and all kinds of fruits. This is (sufficient) proof for people who think. [16:14] And He committed the sea to serve you; you eat from it tender meat ... During Ramadan, our minds invariably wander to thinking about food and drink. The water and food we break our fast with is refreshing and delicious. The meats, vegetables, fruits and drinks that God blesses us with are abundant in variety and flavors that only He could create. As we appreciate God's provisions for our body, we should also thank the Provider for His provisions for our souls. Fasting, in one month, satisfies one of the major commandments. And tracking the passage of this month helps us remember that we're drawing one month closer to meeting our Creator. And God willing that awareness, of the Hereafter, allows us to live righteously knowing that we will stand before Him very soon. May God bless us to remember Him, and to be aware of the Hereafter (Quran 38:46).
