Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 90:17] And being one of those who believe, and exhorting one another to be steadfast, and exhorting one another to be kind. [Quran 52:26] They will say, "We used to be kind and humble among our people. [Quran 11:75] Indeed, Abraham was clement, extremely kind, and obedient. As believers, we exhort one another to be kind (Quran 90:17). Logically, we should be kind ourselves. According to a dictionary, a kind person is "sympathetic and helpful". God says to be kind to our parents (Quran 17:24) and to those who believe (5:54, 48:29). (The same verses also say with whom we should be stern (Quran 5:54, 48:29).) Kindness is also called for when helping orphans (Quran 4:5) and more generally when being charitable (Quran 2:263, 24:22). Among the examples of kind people in the Quran, Abraham is described as being "extremely kind", and John as one endowed with "kindness". Naturally, none of us can be as kind as God, the Most Kind, Most Merciful! May God help us to be among those who can say on the Day of Judgment that they were "kind and humble" (Quran 52:26).
