Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 76:8-9] They donate their favorite food to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. "We feed you for the sake of GOD; we expect no reward from you, nor thanks. Recently, there was an online exchange between the world's richest person and the United Nations (UN) World Food Program. According to the UN, $6 billion could feed 42 million people who were on the brink of starvation for a year (at 43 cents per meal). The Quran encourages everyone to give to charity. While we may not have billions, we can still do our part. We don't want to be among those who admit on the Day of Judgment, "We did not feed the poor" (Quran 74:44). [Quran 90:10-16] Did we not show him the two paths? He should choose the difficult path. Which one is the difficult path? The freeing of slaves. Feeding, during the time of hardship. Orphans who are related. Or the poor who is in need. May we strive to please God and be kind and charitable.
