Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:145] ... Whoever seeks the vanities of this world, we give him therefrom, and whoever seeks the rewards of the Hereafter, we bless him therein. We reward those who are appreciative. [Quran 16:121] Because he was appreciative of His Lord's blessings, He chose him and guided him in a straight path. God says the appreciative are rewarded, and the more we thank Him, the more He gives us (Quran 14:7). It is a promise that God gives and keeps. But we should not be thanking God only because we will get things in return. We should thank God genuinely without expecting anything in return, lest we come across as fair weather friends. God reminds us in the Quran to be appreciative of all His blessings (Quran 16:14, 16:78, 16:114, 31:12, 46:15, etc.). It is important for our own souls that we are thankful to God. God gives us what He knows is best for us. And we already have so much that we couldn't possibly count it (Quran 14:34, 16:18). Hence, it is for our best interest that we thank God for all that we had, for all that we have and for all that we may receive in the future.
