In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 38:29] This is a scripture that we sent down to you, that is sacred--perhaps they reflect on its verses. Those who possess intelligence will take heed.

Who is intelligent? In this world we consider people with high IQ scores or advanced degrees or those who are successful in their field as intelligent. But does this intelligence help our souls and bring eternal happiness? And how does God describe the intelligent?

God tells us that among the traits of the intelligent is that they observe Him (Quran 2:197). They recognize that God's revelations are the truth (Quran 13:19). They believe the Quran is from their Lord, follow all of it (Quran 3:7) and reflect on its verses (Quran 38:29). They remember God throughout the day (Quran 3:190-194). They discard the worship of all idols, devote themselves to God alone, examine and follow God's words (Quran 39:17-18). 

May God help us so we listen to the natural instinct to worship Him alone (Quran 7:172, 30:30) and make intelligent choices for our soul.
