Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:92] You cannot attain righteousness until you give to charity from the possessions you love. Whatever you give to charity, GOD is fully aware thereof. [Quran 2:272] ... Any charity you give shall be for the sake of GOD. Any charity you give will be repaid to you, without the least injustice. Charity and Zakat are two of the beautiful forms of worshiping God alone. God encourages each and everyone of of us to give Zakat and charity. God tells us He specifies His mercy for those who give the obligatory charity (Zakat) (Quran 7:156). Giving charity is a requirement for attaining righteousness (Quran 3:92). Giving charity also reminds us that everything we have belongs to God (24:33). It is only by God's Blessing, Grace and Mercy that we have what we have and are able to enjoy these material luxuries. God is the only Provider, but He may use us to be a channel for His provisions, and allow us to earn credit with Him in the process. Charity is a gift that can help us strengthen and nourish our souls. The act of giving to charity keeps us grounded and helps us appreciate God's innumerable blessings upon us. May God keep us grounded, responsible and aware of the commandments He has given us and help us strengthen and nourish our souls by doing so.
