Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful ** Ramadan: Night of Destiny starts sunset April 27 in USA, God willing. Please see https://masjidtucson.org/submission/practices/ramadan/#dates for more information ** Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:191] They remember GOD* while standing, sitting, and on their sides, and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: "Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain. Be You glorified. Save us from the retribution of Hell. *3:191 Your god is whoever or whatever occupies your mind most of the time. The true believers are those who remember God most of the time. See 23:84-89 and Appendix 27. God knows how to get our attention. He knows that food and drink are important to us. And He knows that the distractions of our daily lives frequently keep us from remembering Him while standing, sitting, and on our sides. During fasting, we have extra opportunities to remember God each time we think of water, food and all that the Most Gracious Provider has blessed us with. Remembering, commemorating and thanking God leads to happiness for our souls (Quran 13:28-29, 14:7, 20:130). Meanwhile, our digestive system gets much needed rest. May God help us be among those who respond to Him, glorify Him for guiding us and express our appreciation (Quran 2:185-186).
