In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 22:18] Do you not realize that to GOD prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the animals, and many people? Many others among the people are committed to doom. Whomever GOD shames, none will honor him. Everything is in accordance with GOD's will.

Among God's proofs to us is the creation of animals and pets. We can learn from their examples as they submit to God without any ego (Quran 22:18, 6:38). While humans may rebel against submitting to God, animals submit to God and carry out the role God assigned them without ego. The horse has no ego. The horse's owner can be rich or poor, tall or short, fat or thin, young or old, and the horse will serve them all. The dog has no ego; it will wag its tail to its owner, no matter how rich or poor the owner might be.

Animals are appreciative of whatever God provides for them (Quran 29:60). You can give your dog or cat the same food each day, and they will be happy to eat it.

As we work on our Submission through Ramadan and after, may God help us learn from His beautiful creatures. And help us subdue our ego and be appreciative.
