Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Reconcile The Believers [Quran 49:9] If two groups of believers fought with each other, you shall reconcile them. If one group aggresses against the other, you shall fight the aggressing group until they submit to GOD's command. Once they submit, you shall reconcile the two groups equitably. You shall maintain justice; GOD loves those who are just. The Real Family [49:10] The believers are members of one family; you shall keep the peace within your family and reverence GOD, that you may attain mercy. God has given us family to (among other things) remind us of God and His commands (Quran 51:55, 103:3) and to support us (Quran 8:74). What if the peace in our family is tested? The Quran tells us to counter aggression, equitably reconcile and maintain justice (Quran 49:9-10). Related to maintaining justice: in Submission (Islam), the victim and/or the victim's family are the judges for all crimes; they decide what the punishment shall be under the supervision of a person who knows the Quran. God loves those who are just. May God help us to be among those who keep the peace, reverence God and attain His mercy (Quran 49:10).
