Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 2:148] ... you shall race towards righteousness. Wherever you may be, GOD will summon you all. GOD is Omnipotent. [Quran 3:135] If they fall in sin or wrong their souls, they remember GOD and ask forgiveness for their sins―and who forgives the sins except GOD―and they do not persist in sins, knowingly. Like plants in this world, our souls too need "feeding" and "weeding". We can feed our souls through righteous activities, e.g., the Contact Prayers, giving charity, remembering God, observing the commandments, and more. We can remove the "weeds" our soul gets stuck in by seeking God's forgiveness and consciously working on removing bad habits and sins that stunt our soul's growth. Gardeners regularly work on both weeding and feeding their plants, so that they may grow tall and strong. Do we do the same for our souls?
