Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Marriage:A Divine Institution [Quran 30:20-21] Among His proofs is that He created you from dust, then you became reproducing humans. Among His proofs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, in order to have tranquility and contentment with each other, and He placed in your hearts love and care towards your spouses. In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think. In today's world many people seem to view marriage as a negative thing, a limiting of freedom, of excitement. On the other hand, some Christians have long had the understanding from the writings of Paul that it is better not to marry, in order to more completely devote oneself to God. However, in the Quran, verses 24:32-33, God encourages marriage to discourage immorality. God also tells us that He designed marriage. The contentment, love and care in marriage is one of His proofs. If we step back, we see that instead of limiting freedom, marriage provides security, stability and freedom for the soul. Much like everything else God designed, it strengthens us as individuals and as a society. May God help us to grow our souls by observing and preserving His commandments.
