In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 22:65] Do you not see that GOD has committed in your service everything on earth? The ships run in the ocean by His command. He prevents the heavenly bodies from crashing onto the earth, except in accordance with His command. GOD is Most Kind towards the people, Most Merciful.

Asteroid 2023 BU passed by earth on January 26 at a distance of about 2200 miles (that's less than the distance between New York and Los Angeles, and well below the orbit of GPS satellites). It had only been discovered last weekend. With all our modern technology, scientists know that there are many such heavenly bodies out there that remain undetected.

At the end of the day, we realize only God knows all things (Quran 5:97, 2:115, 31:34, 22:70). And it is only God who can protect us (Quran 4:132, 7:196). The Quran prophesies an impact that will cause smoke to envelope the earth (Quran 44:9-15) after the coming of God's messenger of the covenant. Only God knows its time.

God assures His servants that He will protect them (Quran 3:174, 6:82, 7:196, 13:11). May God help us be among the righteous.
