Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 47:2] Those who believe and work righteousness, and believe in what was sent down to Muhammad--which is the truth from their Lord--He remits their sins, and blesses them with contentment. [Quran 89:27-28] As for you, O content soul. Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing. God assures us of contentment if we believe in Him, work righteousness, and believe in what He sent down to Muhammad--the Quran (Quran 47:2). The Quran has all the guidance and wisdom we need to work righteousness and be content. A body with all the material success it longs for often belongs to an unhappy person. This is because contentment is a state of the soul (Quran 89:27-30). A soul that seeks to please God. A happy soul praises God through the day, and does not covet what God gave to others (Quran 20:130-131). Ego and pride get in the way of contentment (Quran 48:26), and we should replace those traits with humility, accepting God is in control, and submitting to Him. Reflection question: How will we go about being content?
