Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 76:2-3] We created the human from a liquid mixture, from two parents, in order to test him. Thus, we made him a hearer and a seer. We showed him the two paths, then, he is either appreciative, or unappreciative. [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. Did we set a goal last year to be more appreciative? Many of us were actively grateful on Thanksgiving day and when we received an unexpected blessing. But to be truly happy, we must be thankful to God every day. And each of us has so much to be thankful for including every day of life as a chance to redeem ourselves, God's provisions for our souls and bodies (Quran 2:185, 7:10, 16:114, 56:68-70), our hearing, eyesight and brain (Quran 32:9) and every other perfectly designed part of the body, the night and day (Quran 40:61), and more. Indeed, we cannot possibly count all of God's blessings (Quran 14:34, 16:18). The new year is a new opportunity to renew our commitment towards our goals and to be actively appreciative. A chance to reflect and thank God for His blessings, and also show our appreciation to the people that we love. If we do, we will be appreciated by these people, but more importantly by God, who promises to give us more because we value His blessings. Let us take time today to be appreciative.
