Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:64] Say, "O followers of the scripture, let us come to a logical agreement between us and you: that we shall not worship except GOD; that we never set up any idols besides Him, nor set up any human beings as lords beside GOD." If they turn away, say, "Bear witness that we are submitters." Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Sunnis, Shias, Sikhs and people of other faiths have one thing in common--a belief in God. What then divides them into bitter enemies? As an intelligent and highly educated generation of humans, we can certainly find out what causes people to fight, and how to eliminate the causes of conflict. Obviously, if we focus on the one thing we have in common, and rise above the petty differences, we will eliminate war. The Quran provides the solution of this problem in 3:64. The reason these people are fighting is THE HUMAN FACTOR. Since they all believe in God, the only reason that divides them is allegiance to human factors such as Jesus, Mary, Muhammad, Buddha, and so on. Universal unity is attainable through devotion to God alone. We pray that God helps us concentrate on the one common link: our love and worship of our Creator alone. Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in God, (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
